Axios will add two new senior members to its politics reporting team in January 2023:

David Lindsay

David Lindsey has been named Axios’ managing editor of politics overseeing all political coverage including the White House, Congress, elections, polling and more.

Eugene Scott

Eugene Scott will join Axios as a senior politics reporter covering Congressional leadership and will co-author a new political newsletter.

Lindsey previously was Executive Editor for Text at National Geographic. Under his leadership, Nat Geo was a Pulitzer Prize finalist for Explanatory Reporting and won several National Magazine Awards. Lindsey has been a newsroom leader for more than two decades, also serving in editor roles at The Washington Post, USA Today and Reuters. He has led coverage of national politics, elections, legal affairs, post-9/11 anti-terror efforts, and more.

Scott joins Axios from The Washington Post, where he was a national political reporter covering breaking news and frequent on-air political analyst for MSNBC, CBS, NPR and other networks. Scott has spent two decades covering politics at the local, national and international levels and won multiple awards from journalism organizations including NABJ and SPJ.
