The midyear/summer rally off the June low has traders and
investors excited, but we are not convinced the bear market is over just yet. Midyear
bullish seasonality from late June to mid-July is running out and bearish seasonality
tends to prevail from August-October. Rates are going up again next week when
the Fed meets and again in September. Earnings season was not as bad as expected
but economic and sentiment readings are still troublesome. All in all, we are
inclined to wait for the fatter pitch this fall.
